The architectural composition of this Century Square with its immediate amenities of modernistic buildings all around superficially reveals the recent building boom of China. Beyond these urban facades are in-filled with many drab and shoddily built structures; many of which are residentials unfitting for this described context. Soon, expectantly, the old and structurally unsound will also be bulldozed to give way for modernity. Saturday, November 29, 2008

Seeing leaves swerving in space, and capturing sunlight with ever illuminating phenomenon and concurrently generating mysterious overlapping shadows, seems to make me feel warmer during this cold midday photographic moment.[Botany] a sponge cucumber; a dishcloth gourd; a loofah
The vegetable is imported from its origin India during the Ming Dynasty. There are other names such as Vegetable Gourd 菜瓜or Dangling Gourd吊瓜. In its dried state useful as body scrub, loofahs are usually sold in the bodyshops.
The Luffa or Loofah/Lufah (from Arabic لوف) are tropical and subtropical vines comprising the genus Luffa. The fruit of at least two species, Luffa acutangula and Luffa aegyptiaca, is grown to be harvested before maturity and eaten as a vegetable, popular in Asia and Africa.

Stu
Stuart lived in the same co-ed dormitory when we went to Kent State Unversity, Kent, Ohio, USA in mid-1980s. The Crotsers was a very loving Ohioan family; they invited me home to spend the month long X'mas break and we are friends forever...I salvaged the above photo and email Stuart had sent - to recollect memories dating back over two decades long. Every year, Stuart would send me a family photo to keep, before there was such a thing called email. The above photo was the first in digital format sent on on Dec. 31st., 2004.
This up and coming festive season, I wish the Crotsers
Merry Christmas and a happy New Year 2009.
With love
Jeremy

Wince is in town. I met her last Sunday evening, Nov. 9th, for a great hearty chat at a restaurant after my all day conference at Tongji University. Wince and Andrew Yim (left) were classmate back in MIA, KL, M'sia. Wince has graduated with an Interior Design honorable degree at Robert Gordon University. She had decided to look out for job here in Shanghai or in Hong Kong dopending on which offers better prospect when foreseeing diminishing opportunity to find a decent job back in UK due to the current international economic downturn. I hope she would find herself a decent job sooner.

Yesterday, Friday, November 7th, 20098 was in Lunar Calendar the Beginning of Winter or 立冬, conventionally observed by farmers and one of several solar terms that describes the seasonal or astrological changes of the year. With cultural significance, Beginning of Winter literally describes and signals the seasonal arrival of winter. All living things big and small make reservation for their respective restful moment to avoid the looming cold.

Now station her career development in Ho Chih Minh City, Vietnam, Chu Ziyan a.k.a. Pigsy Z sent me a photo via msn chat last evening. She told me she had received via An Nee, also in Ho Chih Minh City, the Olympics mascot I complemented for her cute Snowman that I had since displayed it on top of the video player. She has joyously expressing her warm gratitude by taking a picture as evidence of receipt. And look...she has a collection of them. She told me this was one of the displayed collections.
