Mutual Visitation of Relatives
2nd Day of Chinese New Year 2009

It is always exceptionally joyful to have relatives and friends visiting from afar and especially during this festive Year of Ox 2009. And nothing is more pleasurable to chip in a couple of bucks for a few rounds of Mah-jong games on the 8-Immortal Table 八仙桌 (square table) and endless round of Tie Guanyin tea. Little kids are also fed while moms and alike have to watch them over due to their erratic playful behavior.

Later after the games, all round up for lunch...steamy hotpot, saucy fish, steamed shrimps, all kinds of vegetable cooking, roasted or cooked meat, and more with various types of beans, etc. So much to select and so much to digest. Don't forget, cheering and toasting with the very strong red wine homemade from glutinous rice! Toast to the Year of Ox!

Though the weather is rather freezing for the day with temperature as low to near zero degree Celcius and cloudy or foggy all day long, everyone goes on with their cheerful and upbeat spirit of hanging around and having fun. Though silent as seen from the pictures below, I am sure the rest of the village families are also doing the same in their respective family festive gala.
An owl flies in to take a brief shelter and bringing loud cheers to all.
