Shanghai eArts Festival 2008

On these three larger than human scale 'periscopes', images of those who look into the smaller view finders will be projected on the other sides of larger screens. Images will be repeatedly displayed over time. For these images taken, they are transferred to another large screen. From here, images are processed, taken as a unit at a time and transcribed as an electronic pixel, and transformed into constructing those vertical stacks of representative building blocks of a city. Well, this is a simple presentation but made so magnified and complex. Why would the artist make life so tough to understand the meaning of an electron or electronics? And how an electron or an electronic has affected our everyday life ever since its discovery or before discovery?

Just never understood the function of this beautifully sculpted cubicles...many were standing in line for a long time but just were never allowed in. So what's the objective of an eArts then? To wait another second longer in order to find out the meaning of another electronic big bang? Dumb.
