Medan and Lake Toba, Indonesia

Istana Maimoen

The Istana or Palace was once the ruling territory or home turf of the past sultans during the Medan Period. Essentially, the Istana is a hybrid of arabic and western tradition of architecture. The Istana was squeaky clean with very effective air ventilation. One feels very cool inside.
