Really, just can't beat this heavenly setting where the pace of life seems to be a second slower compare to elsewhere.

As can be seen and deducted from the map above, and as read from facts posted on websites, Lake Toba was once in its active but catastropic volcanic activities that the eruption well over 70,000 years ago had, presumptions by scientists, reversed and adversely chilled the climate temperature on earth. However, when mentioned about this inactive crater, the local folks seemed not to know anything at all about it. Lake Toba is 30 Km in width and 100 Km in length, 500 m deepest point situated in the northern part of the lake while its lake surface is at about 900 Km a.s.l.

The 4-day tour were accompanied by Nancy (right) from Kuala Lumpur and the taxi driver cum tour guide Ismail Chaniago (left). Born in Padang, now 42, Chaniago is married with three kids; they all live in Medan.

Dusk called upon fishermen to haul their catch of the day.

The late arrival at Parapat due to traffic jam all the way could only allow to catch the last glimpse of sunset shown below.

Utopian life...in an idyllic setting.
